Is Being Gay a Choice? هل المثليّة الجنسيّة خيار؟

Just as I did not choose my ethnicity, family, and country, so we do not choose our gender identity and sexual orientation. We do choose how to express our sexuality. But our identity is not our choice.

This has been the overarching testimony of the LGBTQ+ community. I am aware that some of my brothers and sisters in the Christian community might find offense with these words. This does not change the fact that this is the experience of the gay community. And any type of discussion, theological or otherwise, between the church and the LGBTQ+ community must take this point as granted.

Why Am I a Christian and not an Atheist? – لماذا أنا مسيحيا ولست ملحدا؟

I have wrestled with the question of God’s existence over the past years. Why am I a believer and not an atheist? Other than the fact that I was born in a house which taught me about Jesus from my first breath, why am I a follower of the way of Christ?

I have two simple answers. They might not be convincing to my atheist friends. They might not be satisfying to my brothers and sisters in the church. But at this moment in time, they are all the answers I have.
