دخل كلب إلى مسجد في تركيا، فحاول المصلّون إخراجه كونه يُعتبر حيوان نجس ويعطّل الصلاة. وتذكّرت كيف دخلت هرّة مسجد منذ بضعة أشهر فاحتضنها الشيخ واشتعلت صفحات التواصل الإجتماعي بالتبجيل بالإسلام اللطيف. كتبت تعليق على الموضوع على صفحتي على فايسبوك منتقدا العقائد الدينية المناقضة للعلم والمنطق، وأتت بعض التعليقات بأن كل الأفكار الدينية بشكل عام غير منطقية
هل حقا كل الفكر الديني غير منطقي؟
بإعتقادي أن إيماني بأنه يوجد إله مبني على حجج منطقية. يوجد حقل الفلسفة المسيحية. والحوارات الرصينة بين الفلاسفة الملحدين والمسيحيين في الغرب متاحة بكثرة على يوتيوب. يمكن مراجعتها بسهولة
هناك فرق بين الدفاع عن إيمان بواقع روحاني غير منظور ولكن نرى تأثيراته في العالم. وبين الدفاع عن فكر ديني يمنع أمر أو ممارسة مادية أثبتت الخبرة البشرية أنها غير مضرّة وأن المنع لها لا ينطبق في كل زمان ومكان وهو غير منطقي
السؤال مختلف في الحالتين
في الحالة الأولى السؤال هو هل الله موجود؟ أو، هل تُستجاب الصلاة؟ وإلى ما هنالك. يمكن تقديم حجج منطقية وخبرات بشرية للإجابة بنعم أو كلا
في الحالة الثانية السؤال مادي ملموس واقعي. هل لحم الخنزير مضرّ؟ هل الكلب حيوان مؤذي إذا ربّيناه في البيت؟ وإلى ما هنالك. إجابات هذه الأسئلة أسهل وتعتمد على الخبرة البشرية والعلميّة، ومن الصعب إن لم يكن من المستحيل إيجاد تبرير منطقي وموضوعي لعدم اقتناء كلب أو لعدم أكل لحم الخنزير
يجب أن نكون منفتحين لتغيير عقائدنا الدينية السلوكية اليومية حين نكتشف أن اعتقاد ديني ما يتناقد مع العلم والخبرة البشرية
أيضا يجب أن نكون منفتحين على تغيير كل نظامنا الإيماني إذا اكتشفنا أن فكرنا عن الله (طبيعته ووجوده) غير منطقي ولا تبرير له
أود تقديم ملاحظة ختامية. قد ينبري بعض المسلمين قائلين أن العلم أثبت أن الكلب حيوان نجس أو أن لحم الخنزير غير صحّي وما شابه. يكفي القول أن الدراسة التي تُجرى عن لحم الخنزير والتي من البداية تتوقع أن تجد أنه مضرّ كون منعه هو أمر إلهي ستجد بطبيعة الحال أنه مضرّ لأنه ممنوع عليها أن تجد أنه غير مضر لأن ذلك يصبح كفر. هكذا دراسة لا يؤخذ بها. مراجعة بسيطة لغوغل تريك الحقيقة

A dog entered a mosque in Turkey causing disturbance among those who were praying as they tried to kick it out. Dogs are considered to be unclean animals in Islam and obstruct prayer. I remembered how a few months ago a cat entered a mosque and the cleric hugged it to his shoulder as he lead prayer. Social media erupted with posts about the beauty of Islam. I commented on the two episodes on my Facebook page, criticizing religious doctrines that do not adhere to logic or science. Some comments were that all religious ideas in general are illogical.
Is truly all religious thought illogical?
I believe that my faith believes in a God are based on logical arguments. There is a field of Christian philosophy. Respectable logical debates between Christian and atheist philosophers are readily available on Youtube.
There is a difference between defending faith as a spiritual present unseen reality with real world effects, and with defending a religious belief that bans a material object or practice that consistent human experience has shown to be benign and its banning is not applicable in all places at all times and is illogical.
We are answering two different sets of questions:
In the first case, the questions are about the existence of God, the efficacy of prayer, and so on and so forth. We can use logical arguments and human experience to give a positive or negative answer.
In the second case, we have material practical questions. Is pork harmful for humans? Do pet dogs harm humans? And so on and so forth. These questions are easier and depend on scientific and human experience for an answer. One would be hard pressed to find any logical and objective reason to not own a pet dog or to not eat pork.
We should be ready to change our practical religious-based every day behavior when we discover that a certain religious belief contradicts science and human experience.
In the same vein, we should also be ready to change our entire faith system regarding the existence of God and his nature when met with irrefutable logical and experiential arguments.
I would like to note towards the end that some Muslims might claim that science has proven that dogs as pets are unclean or that pork is not healthy or whatnot. It suffices to say that a study about pork done in a setting where from the outset this study expects to find that pork is bad since the ban of pork is divinely instituted, will naturally find that pork is unhealthy because finding that it is healthy would be equal to blasphemy. Such a study is not reliable. A simple google search shows the absurdity of those claims.
I dream of a day when we can couple mind with faith in our Evangelical, Islamic, and religious discussions in general
